Canadian Champions Myles Munroe & Tessa Cunningham Munroe are West Coast Swing master teachers and ambassadors of WCS, touring internationally for over 19 years, teaching, judging, and performing, and leading the Showcase division.
Since 2009, they have been teaching online comprehensive WCS training programs for teachers and dancers.
Throughout the pandemic, hundreds of dancers worldwide have used these programs to achieve breakthroughs in their dance - even without access to physical touch.

Tessa

Tessa’s academic background started with competitive swimming, where she received National Coaching Certification, created a Coach Training Program, graduated from UBC with a Bachelor of Kinesiology, and started an Olympic-track coaching career, all before returning to school to complete her Bachelor of Education. Tessa has been professionally practicing physical education, movement analysis, and pedagogy for the past 30 years, and this constant training in “how to teach” was the other huge factor that allowed Myles and Tessa to create such a powerful and effective program (Swing Literacy).

Myles

Myles brings a classical dance training background, 6 UCWDC World Championship titles, Karate, Wing Chun Kung Fu, Jiu-Jitsu, golf and motorcycle racing to the table, and considers himself an eternal student of manipulating kinetics for sport and artMyles is so passionate about improving his craft, he literally has a tattoo that reads, “Technique prevents the body from limiting the soul’s expression”. His studies in all of these non-dance fields, along with being classically trained and studying the inner workings of over 14 different dances, is a huge part of what made it possible for him and Tessa to create Swing Literacy.

Prerequisites:
This intensive is NOT for brand-new dancers. Instead, we recommend Newcomer to join Myles & Tessa's workshop on Sunday in Utrecht.

You have taken at least 6 months of regular West Coast Swing classes
or
You have significant experience with elasticity, standard patterns, footwork, body pulse, and turns. And you are familiar dancing Left Side Pass, Under arm Turn, Sugar Push and Whip.

If you don't meet these requirements please contact me for a skill assessment before you register!

The pass includes 2 hours of Intensive and 2 hours of social practice

Pass purchases are final and non-refundable. For special circumstances pleas contact me!

Transfer policies

Primarily you can only transfer you registration to someone in the same role and the same level as a substitute. Exceptions can be made if it benefits the role-balance.
If you like to transfer your ticket to another human, please contact us before you transfer so we can confirm it is a legimit transfer and we can update our administration.
Finding a substitute should be done in an acceptable manner, without any abuse or misuse. We reserve the right to decline any registration transfer request that does not comply with these guidelines.

Put your navigation to the intersection "Kleine Koppel, Brabantsestraat" and find a free parking spot:
- Kleine Koppel (very limited space)
- Brabantsestraat
- Limburgsestraat (partly 2-hour parking limits)
- The area across the bridge, away from the center (for example Kwekersweg, Koppelweg, Grote Koppel, De Vendelier). Only 5 minutes by foot.
Paid parking:
Parkinglot Oliemolenkwartier (free parking after 22.00)
Be aware that it is not allowed to park on the Oude Fabrieksstraat!! Parking is strictly enforced!

The entrance of the venue is at the right side of restaurant Hoog Vuur. Enter the blue door and turn left.

DO I NEED EXPERIENCE?

Yes.

We expect that you are able to reliably execute basic pushes, passes, and whips as taught in our Essential classes (Intro I+Intro II). You have significant experience with elasticity, standard patterns, footwork, body pulse, and turns. And you are familiar dancing Left Side Pass, Under arm Turn, Sugar Push and Whip.

This intensive is NOT for brand-new dancers. Instead, we recommend Newcomers join Myles & Tessa's workshop on Sunday in Utrecht.

IS REGISTRATION REQUIRED?

Registration is required for all type of passes.

Registration will be available online until November 1st 2024

CAN I COME TO THE PARTY IF I DON'T HAVE A TICKET FOR THE INTENSIVE?

YES! We love it when you join us for the social practice. Limited tickets will be available a little closer to the event.

CAN I TRANSFER MY TICKET IF I CAN'T MAKE IT?
